4. Forgotten God: Reversing Our Tragic Neglect of the Holy Spirit

This book is in the advanced category. The writer has a bit of assertion in his tone, but I like it because he’s yanking you out of that comfortable place. If you get easily offended when people sound very assertive when writing, this book is not for you because it will offend you. But I look at that as conviction, and I don’t look at it as being offended.

The author believes that love or actions of human creation do not move the world, and the Church is not empowered to live differently from any other gathering of people without the Holy Spirit. But when believers believe in the power of the Spirit, the evidence is in the evidence in their lives. It’s supernatural! The Church cannot help but be different, and the world cannot help but notice. If you are in a place where you know the Holy Spirit, this book will surely wake you up.
