Poseidon is the Greek God of the seas, earthquakes, and horses. At the same time, he was the brother of Zeus, Hades, Hera, Hestia, and Demetre. Poseidon is described as gathering clouds and calling forth storms. He has the power to grant a successful voyage and save those who are in danger. He is defined as the God who holds the earth and can shake the Earth.
Reading books about Poseidon is an insightful experience because you can gain a deeper understanding of the ancient Greeks’ culture, beliefs, and values and explore their relationship with the natural elements. They represent numerous symbols and archetypes, including the sea, storms, horses, and earthquakes.
5 Books About Poseidon
Poseidon had sons and daughters, and one of them was Percy Jackson. Percy Jackson is a popular character that takes place in the Olympus series. Everybody loves this series, and there are many fans of it.
The sea god Poseidon is briefly described in two individual series: Warriors of Poseidon and the Olympians series. So I’m going to discuss five books about Poseidon. Let’s begin!
1. The Sea of Monsters
Sea of Monsters is the second book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. It’s a condensed version of The Odyssey. In the first book of the series, when we left with Percy, he saved the camp for the first time.
We found out that Luke is working with Kronos. He is trying to rise again, all of this crazy stuff. But Percy has now survived eight other years of his life, and it’s getting close to time to go back to Camp Half-Blood. Things are not going too great in Camp Half-Blood. They are being overrun by monsters, constantly under attack. That’s because the tree that protects the camp has been poisoned.
Through this book, Percy, Annabeth, and Tyson go to the sea of monsters to find the Golden Fleece. It has legendary nature therapeutic properties that could restore this tree and hopefully save Camp Half-Blood. But they’re not doing that. They’re also looking for their friend Grover, who had left to find the God Poseidon’s pan. He’s gone missing. Supposedly, they will also find him in the sea of monsters and Poseidon. You learn more about Percy and Poseidon here, and things are starting to get set into motion.

2. Atlantis Redeemed: Warriors of Poseidon
Atlantis Redeemed is the 5th book of the Warriors of Poseidon series. The Warriors of Poseidon is a paranormal romance series. That’s an epic quest in romance, action, and adventure. At the heart of it, it’s about an ancient race of Atlantean warriors tasked to protect humanity from the dark forces in the world. He didn’t show themselves to humanity except in the shadows.
The vampires and all creatures that used to bump at night are outgoing in the daytime. They’re part of Congress, and they own the media, and they’re taking over. So the Atlanteans have had to come out and be more obvious too.
What they’re doing is meeting a series of human women who have Atlantan gifts that were thought lost in the waters of time. They’re teaming up together to fight against this takeover. Each Atlantean warrior is branded with a special tattoo when they swear their service to Poseidon. It’s a mark embedded in their skin, and it’s a circle bisected by a triangle with Poseidon’s Trident in the center of all of that. The circle is for all the world’s peoples, and the triangle is for the ancient knowledge pyramid.
Poseidon’s Trident has special magical powers. Brennan is a warrior Poseidon cursed over two thousand years ago to have no emotion whatsoever. He did something very horrible. Poseidon had finally had it with him. He cursed him never to have any feelings until the day he would meet his one true love, which would bring back his emotions long enough for him to see her die.
Tiernan is a human reporter who had a tragedy in her past. She is the ancient Atlantean gift of being a truth-teller. She can tell when people are lying to her, which has caused her to be very, very isolated in her life. She has these two people who are wounded and alone in different ways. So they must work together and overcome this curse to protect people from some pretty evil scientists.

3. The Son of Neptune
This is the second book in the Heroes of Olympus series. The sea god Poseidon is also known as the Son of Neptune here. Rick Riordan tried to reintroduce the world that new people may be entering. And he was doing three different perspectives, one of which was a girl she had never done before.
The perspective changed with every two chapters, which made the story feel a little bit choppy. Whereas with the son of Neptune, the perspective changes every four chapters. Percy, Frank, and Hazel, the main cast in this book, feel much more fleshed out and realistic. It’s crazy to see the difference between these two books with Poseidon.
Percy is stumbling along in California. He has no memory, no idea who he is. But he does remember one thing, and that’s Annabeth. He doesn’t know who this person is, but he remembers the name and knows that she must mean something to him, which is so romantic. Percy does stumble into the Roman camp on the other side of America.
So not only do we have Camp Half-Blood for the Greeks, but now we have Camp Jupiter, which is all for the descendants of the Roman gods. But they’re not all half-bloods, and they’re not all teenagers. Some of these people have grown up and have lived in that camp. Jupiter also has a city where you can grow up, get married, have a home, and attend college. This is all something that Percy wants.
We get Raina, who was in the Sea of Monsters. Then we also have Frank, a mixture of many gods with a powerful bloodline. He is so adorable and so loving. His life force is tied to a stick. You see much more with those three than with the three in this book. The introduction was so much more robust with the son of Neptune. In the story, we see them trying to restore the glory of Rome. These giants are still rising. They have opened the doors of death.

4. The Last Olympian
The Last Olympian is the final book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan. So the last Olympian has such a special place in my heart. It is so emotional and unique because you see how far Percy has come and how his father, god Poseidon, behaves. Percy is going to have to face a lot of difficult decisions. Also, he learns to understand the enemy to come out on top. It’s understanding why did Luke run away from home?
Why did he turn his back on the gods? You do see Percy realize that he could have as quickly been Luke. But some things are different. Mostly, he gets that insight into what’s going on. He looks at things with a wider lens and sees the forest through the trees, eventually allowing him to come out on top.
It’s incredible to see how far he’s come from the lightning. I love seeing how Rick grows as a writer, and he is doing such amazing things now. The Last Olympian is such a fantastic conclusion. It wraps up the first leg of Percy’s story so unbelievably well. So all of the Percy Jackson books are together and tell you a secret.

5. Atlantis Unleashed (Warriors of Poseidon Book 3)
Atlantis Unleashed is the third book of the Warriors of Poseidon series. The worries of the Poseidon series are about a lost race of warriors from Atlantis. They secretly have been protecting humanity from vampires and all the creatures. So Atlantis has had to come out in the open to fight back. Poseidon did something like a cruel god, but you will see some astonishing moments here.
Atlantis Unleashed is such an inspirational book and the best book about Poseidon. Lord Justice, who is secretly a half-prince of Atlantis, was under a curse never to tell anyone about that, or he would have to kill them. He’s been tortured all his life by this knowledge and has never been able to have a family. He’s had to come to grips with the duality of his nature to finally find true love with an archaeologist who has special gifts of her own. Atlantis Unmasked continues the series with the story of Alexia, who was tortured and scarred when he was a captive of the vampire goddess.
Baeza is a continuing villain in the series, putting all the Atlantean warriors through a tough time. So in trying to redeem himself and return from the pain he’s been through. He finally has to unmask his true emotions when he meets a warrior woman, a human who helps him battle his demons and find happiness. We had the first Atlantis redeemed with Brennan, who was cursed by Poseidon two thousand years ago, never again to have emotions until he found his one true love. His heroine is a truth-teller. So no one can tell her a lie that causes problems in a relationship.
