Wikipedia reports that there was a record number of billionaires in the world: 3000. It is a very small number if you compare it with the world’s total population. So, becoming a billionaire is a bridge too far for most. If you observe the billionaires/millionaires, most are busy with work and have little time for long-term relationships. They do one-night stands or hookups.
So, you can not see any significant relationship here, but there is always an exception. If you read or see the Fifty Shades trilogy, you see how a billionaire romance can be emotional and sweet. This romance is a subgenre of romance fiction that typically features a love story involving a wealthy, enigmatic, and sometimes domineering male protagonist who is a billionaire.
One key element that makes billionaire romance books so popular is the allure of love and luxury. These novels cover strong protagonists, independent women, and the billionaires who fall head over heels for them. The power dynamic between the characters adds an extra layer of excitement and tension to the story as the reader wonders whether love can truly conquer all.
In addition to the romantic plotline, the opulence and luxury depicted in these books are a major draw for readers. The descriptions of lavish homes, extravagant vacations, and exclusive events create a sense of escapism and fantasy. Who wouldn’t want to imagine themselves being whisked away on a private yacht or attending a glamorous gala in a designer gown? Billionaire romance offers a reprieve from the realities of everyday life, allowing us to indulge in a world of wealth and extravagance.

1. Misadventures of a Backup Bride (Misadventures)
This is part of the Misadventures series. You don’t have to read them in order. They are all technically standalone and all written by different authors. This one follows our billionaire, Carson, who has to make a business deal and marry the daughter of that business owner. But he wants to back out. So he claims that he’s in love with somebody else. Even though he is supposedly in love with somebody else, he can still get the company if he ends up marrying the woman he loves.
So Carson has to devise a plan to find this woman he’s supposed to be in love with, and he meets our female character, Ella. Ella is an actress and decides to go along with it and pretend to be his fiance or be in love with him. They plan to have a wedding that will be fake, and she’ll leave him at the altar so that they don’t have to get married. It won’t be his fault; he could still get the company he wants. It was fun, and I enjoyed the romance.

2. Manwhore
Our female character, Rachel, is a journalist who writes very iconic pieces. She writes about our male character (Saint), a billionaire entrepreneur Chicago has ever known. Saint is mysterious and private, and Rachel wants to expose or get more out of him.
So she decides to interview him and get to know him so she can write this piece about him. So she becomes very wrapped up in him. But she suddenly doesn’t know if she wants to write this article for her career or instead to protect him. It’s super intriguing. In a way, it gives me vibes that he’s very elegant or from a regal family. That’s the vibe I get from his name, and it does follow a lot of other billionaires and successful heroes.

3. The Fortunate Ones
Brooke Davenport works at a country club, and she’s a waitress. James Ashwood is often at the country club and is the successful billionaire tech guy. One day, they’re both in the lounge together. He is super intrigued by her and asks her to take a seat. Then they start chit-chatting. Brooke’s super intimidated by him. There is an age gap, and he’s a little distant, cold, and mysterious.
It’s not super comedy or rom-com-focused as other books are. It has a little bit more serious dark elements. If that makes sense, it still had a lot of great qualities that are scary in Grey’s books, like there is still a little bit of a funny, sassy humor tone to it. Also, there is quite a bit of banter between the characters.

4. The Contract
This is one of my favorites, billionaire romances. Richard VanRyan is a business guy. He’s got the money, which falls to Richard, who is trying to secure this business deal. But the partners don’t believe that he’s a family man. They think he’s a cold, heartless business guy. So, they essentially want him to prove that he could be a family man and be a nice guy.
So he asks his assistant, Katharine, to be his fake fiancee. Katharine tries to do her job, and that’s it, but she doesn’t like him. So she’s thrown off by him asking her to be his fiancee. You see both characters grow and develop, and Richard becomes softer. Also, he opens his heart up for more.

5. Chandler (Fixed)
You don’t have to read the entire Fixed series before reading this one. Chandler, who works for his family’s business, is the black sheep. Also, he is a player, and our female character, Genevieve, is the daughter of this successful businessman. She feels like she doesn’t get much attention from the family. She’s an outcast a little bit. Then, she meets Chandler.
Genevieve doesn’t want anything to do with him, but she sees the opportunity to use him playfully to get her dad’s attention. Obviously, to Chandler, it’s a game. Chandler thinks he can get any girl and’s down for it. There’s no fake dating or anything like that. It’s more friends with benefits, but mainly, they try to get other people’s attention.

6. Eighty-One Nights (Beautiful Illusions Duet)
This is a duology. If you haven’t read any of Georgia Cates’s books, I highly recommend them. But this specific duology is very similar to her other books, which is intentional on Goodreads. Our female character (Caitriona Louden) falls, who is an escort. She ends up meeting our male character (Maxwell), who is a billionaire.
Maxwell offers a contract to be his girlfriend, but more like a little companion. He wants all of the elements of a girlfriend without them getting attached. It was very well developed to feel all their emotions, and the plot was fascinating.

7. Tapping the Billionaire
Our heroine, Georgia Cummings, is an alone girl who works for a software company. The owner of this company is Kline Brooks, a billionaire businessman. He is developing a dating app. So, the employees are supposed to test out the dating app first, and Georgia gets paired with the boss and falls for him.
This is a hidden identity because Kline doesn’t say who he is, and she thinks he’s an arrogant jerk in real life. When she talked to him on the app, he seemed nicer than he was. Slowly, they develop strong feelings through the app, and it is interesting to see how Kline reacts after learning about the secrets.

They start with fake dating because he needs her to get his family off his back about marrying someone. Hudson tries to separate the transaction from family dinners and the sexual relationship. I love this billionaire love story because Claire can get away from her kids for a little bit and go on this work trip. She is interested in having this couple of nights. Then, she gets thrown back into reality when she comes home. She thinks that Tristan will never fit in with her family, and it’s their romance and how he changes a little bit. The kids also play an intricate role in how Claire’s interests get together.
